projects that make me scream
Or at least flinch a bit. Last weekend was 12th Night. For some reason, I thought it was nest weekend. (As a result, my project timetable was rather skewed.) What brought this startling revelation to light was my Pelican calling Thursday evening to ask about details for the pick-up of my auction items.Fortunately, I had most of the hard parts done for my first auction item. The panic, therefor, was minor. The final things I had to do for the sewing kit were to stain it, paint the details & seal it. I think it came out pretty nice.

The other part of the formula - three dozen lemon cookies. I had not even begun these! I normally spread out their creation over two days. Baking day one & filling and glazing day two. They need adequate time to cool. I somehow managed to get four dozen made & packaged up before 1:00 am. Three dozen for the auction and one dozen for my Laurel.
The items did okay at auction. Not great, just okay. I tried not to take that too personally. The money was for charity & the economy, blah blah blah... Just tells me I would rather focus my efforts on largesse rather than this auction. If I am to give stuff away, that's just what I'll do.
Third item of AARRGGHHH - the new under-gambeson, which hereafter shall be referred to as DAMbeson, my husband 'hinted' he would like. No pattern really, just 'guy-directions'. I don't quilt. The DAMbeson is made from linen with thin bamboo batting in between. I have all the pieces quilted, trimmed to size and readu to have their edges bound. I will do the final construction by hand.

Not too bad, really. I have dealt with worse. Ask me about my shirt from CoCo...

If you hadn't called when you did, I'd have been truly screwed!
